    Case introduction

The patient is a 40-year-old female

    imaging performance

The oblique DR film of the left foot showed increased soft tissue density between the left first metatarsophalangeal joint and the second metatarsophalangeal joint, and no abnormal changes were found in the adjacent bone

    surgery and pathology

During the operation, it was seen that the left dorsal mass was located under the epidermis, with clear surrounding boundaries, and the mass was attached to the lateral side of the first metatarsophalangeal joint and the lateral side of the metatarsal head

    discuss

There are many types of fibrous tumors, and their predilection sites are different

    Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT)

Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) was reported from 5 years old to 87 years old, with an average of 49.

Figure 1-7 Figure 1: DR film shows increased soft tissue density in the region of the first and second metatarsal phalanges on the left, with unclear edges and no abnormal changes in the adjacent bone; Figure 2: Axial plain CT scan shows that the lesions are homogeneous Soft tissue density, clear boundary, CT value of about 87HU, no calcification, and no abnormality in the nearby metatarsal bones; Figure 3, 4, 5, 6: MRI showed that the lesion showed slightly low signal on T1WI and T2WI relative to the muscle, and the boundary was clear; 6: The PDW signal is uneven and slightly lower, and the signal in the central area is lower

Typical imaging manifestations of SFT include: relatively uniform tumor density and clear demarcation, two types of parenchymal components with different densities are common in the tumor, MR T2WI mostly shows slightly high signal mixed with patchy low signal areas, and the dynamic enhancement enhancement varies greatly [6]

Foot SFT usually presents as a slow-growing mass with compression of the corresponding site as the tumor enlarges

The patient in this case is a female with subcutaneous dorsum of the foot and no clinical symptoms.
