On October 10, the website of the Chongqing Municipal Economic and Information Commission reported that the commission and Chongqing Municipal Development and Reform, Planning, Environmental Protection and other five departments jointly announced the list of
7 municipal chemical parks.

The 7 homeland areas are Changshou Economic Development Zone New Materials Industrial Park, Wanzhou Economic Development Zone Chemical Industrial Park, Baitao Industrial Park Chemical Industrial Park, Fuling Lingang Economic Zone Chemical Industrial Park, Nanchuan Industrial Park Shuijiang Chemical Industrial Park, Guanba-Fuhuan Circular Economy Industrial Park and Tongnan High-tech Zone Chemical Industrial Park

The five departments require that the supervision, management and coordination services for the construction of chemical parks be strengthened, and chemical enterprises are urged to strictly implement the main responsibility for safe production and environmental protection, effectively improve the intrinsic safety and green development level of the park, and create a carrier
for the high-quality development of Chongqing's chemical industry.
For parks where responsibilities are not in place, commitments to rectify are not in place, and serious accidents such as safety and environmental protection occur, the designation
of chemical parks will be cancelled in accordance with relevant regulations and requirements.

According to the Action Plan for the High-quality Development of Chongqing's Chemical Industry (2021-2025), by 2025, Chongqing's chemical output value will reach 140 billion yuan, and the chemical industry will further gather in chemical parks, and the output value of the city's chemical agglomeration areas will reach 69% of the total output value of the industry, an increase of 9 percentage points
over the end of the "13th Five-Year Plan".
