On December 10, China and 112 WTO members including the European Union, Russia, Japan, Chile, Brazil, and Nigeria jointly signed the Joint Statement on Investment Facilitation

In the statement, all parties emphasized that they will continue to adhere to the development orientation and advance negotiations on the basis of the existing negotiating text.
The goal is to conclude the text negotiation by the end of 2022 and promote the finalization of a multilateral agreement on investment facilitation

Investment facilitation is a negotiation topic jointly initiated by all parties at the WTO in 2017 in order to promote the transformation of the results of the G20 Hangzhou Summit on the "G20 Global Investment Guiding Principles" in 2017.
Chile is currently the negotiation coordinator

The issue aims to establish international rules, improve the transparency of investment policies, simplify and speed up investment approval procedures, and promote international cooperation on a global scale
